Polyglots and Frontliners
Nowadays, learning new languages is very important for our future and there are bilingual and polyglot people. Many people will wonder what it is to be a polyglot, the answer is that a polyglot is a person who speaks and understands several languages, but it could be a text written in different languages (more than 2).
The difference between bilingual and polyglot people is that the first type of people only speaks 2 languages and the polyglot people speak several languages.
Being a polyglot has many advantages, among them, we highlight the possibility of finding a job. There are few job offers and knowing many languages can open doors when it comes to finding a permanent position. Moreover, speaking many languages allows you to travel all over the world. Most of the people who don't travel abroad are because they don´t know the language and are afraid of it. To this, we add that it helps you to suffer in the web.
Scientists have shown that being a polyglot person improves cognitive flexibility and creates a faster learning process, which is very good for you.
But it is not all, being a polyglot person could have disadvantages. It is very difficult to speak different languages and don’t forget the vocabulary of the languages. What’s more, learning different foreign languages requires more time and more effort. You should be a determined person and work very hard.
To sum up, being a polyglot person has advantages and disadvantages. In my case I only speak properly Spanish but I’m studying English and I would like to dominate it in the future. Likewise, I would like to learn to speak a little French. It could help me to find a job sooner and to travel to many places in the world. I would like to visit London, New York, where people speak English and to Paris, where people speak French. I think that travelling people improve their pronunciation and learn many new things, the pronunciation and the hearing are significantly improved. We also learn things about other types of cultures and traditions.
