"FOMO, the syndrome striking people these days":
FOMO, or Fear Of Missing Out is a feeling of anxiety produced by not taking part in social events or not taking part in society.
It is obvious that this problem has increased at the same time that social networks have grown. People upload photos everyday on their social accounts of the different places they go on holidays, their travels, different celebrations such as birthdays, weddings or parties and their new items
Many people suffer this syndrome and they feel anxiety but, above all, a feeling of inferiority. This illness mainly affects young people, teenagers, because they spend too much time on Instagram or other social networks. However, we have to be conscious that the way of living that many people (influencers) upload on social networks is not always real because everyone has bad moments and letdowns that are not posted on Instagram.
During the quarantine this syndrome has decreased because no one could go out and parties and events could not be celebrated, but in the summer shops, restaurants and pubs were opened and many people went out and outbreaks took place. They were not conscious about the situation and they went out. So the syndrome Fomo appeared again.
To put all in a nutshell, FOMO is important and we have to be careful and not be envious about others and don’t believe that what they post is their real life. If you feel inferior about people’s posts or something similar, you should move away from using the mobile phone. We should be happy with our own life and not wish the life of others and it could help you to feel better.
